In short
What KAMMP membership means under the Constitution, how fees and payments work, conduct and acceptable use of the portal, elections, your data, and refunds.
Who these terms are for
These terms explain what membership of the Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Professionals (KAMMP) means and how the member portal works. The Constitution of the Association (Amended 2024) is the governing document. Where these terms and the Constitution differ, the Constitution applies.
Membership categories and rights
The categories of membership and who belongs in each are set out in Article 7 of the Constitution. The rights and duties of members are set out in Article 8.
Only fully paid-up members enjoy the privileges of membership (Article 7.1.8). In practice that means voting, standing for office and the member rates for events depend on your subscription being paid for the current year.
Your category is recorded when the membership office approves your application. Paying the fee alone does not make you a member.
Fees
Annual fees are set by the National Governing Council and ratified by the Annual General Meeting (Article 7.1.7). The current fee for each category is on the Membership page, read from the approved fee schedule. There is no application fee.
Membership runs for one year at a time. We remind you before your subscription falls due. If it is not renewed it lapses, and paying the renewal restores it.
Paying
Pay by M-Pesa to Paybill 985050. For membership fees the account number is your KAMMP ID. From the portal you can also ask for the M-Pesa prompt to be sent straight to your phone.
Every confirmed payment gets a receipt, which you can see and download under Payments in your portal. If you pay by hand at the Paybill, the finance office matches the payment by its account number and then issues the receipt.
KAMMP never asks you to pay to a personal phone number.
Conduct
Article 8.1.4 of the Constitution sets the conduct expected of every member, and it applies on the platform as it does anywhere else.
You also keep your professional registration current and tell us if it lapses, is suspended or changes. You give true information and keep your contact details up to date.
When membership ends
Membership ends in the circumstances set out in Article 9 of the Constitution. A membership that is not renewed lapses and can be restored by paying the renewal. Your membership record is kept after membership ends, because the Association must be able to show who its members were.
Elections
Office holders are elected for two-year terms, and a member may hold the same office for at most two terms (Article 10).
Elections run on the platform:
- You may stand if you are an Ordinary or Life member and a Kenyan citizen resident in Kenya, and your subscription is paid.
- The Electoral Commission vets every nomination before a name goes on the ballot.
- Each eligible member has one vote for each seat, cast in a secret ballot. No one, including officers and the Commission, can see how you voted.
- Results are declared by the Commission. Any eligible member may petition the Commission about a seat within the petition window after the declaration.
Your account and the portal
First sign in uses your KAMMP ID and the one-time password the Association sends you. The one-time password expires 30 days after it is issued. You then choose your own password and complete onboarding: your name and contacts, your professional details and your consents.
Acceptable use of the portal:
- Use only your own account and keep your password to yourself. Tell the secretariat at once if you think someone else has used it.
- Do not upload or type patient information, clinical records or other people's personal details. The platform holds no clinical records.
- Use member contact details only for the Association's business. Do not copy the directory for marketing or pass it to anyone else.
- Do not try to reach parts of the platform your role does not open, or interfere with how it works.
The Association may suspend access to an account that is misused, and will tell you why.
CPD
CPD points for KAMMP activities are recorded when your attendance is recorded. Your CPD transcript and certificates are in your portal, and anyone can check a certificate on the Verify page. You can add CPD from other providers with evidence, and the CPD office reviews it.
Your personal data
KAMMP handles your personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2019 and its regulations. We use it to run your membership: to verify your registration, issue your card and receipts, record your CPD, run elections and contact you about the Association. We do not sell it, and sponsors never receive delegate lists.
You may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete what the Association is not required to keep. Make a request from Privacy in your portal, which goes to the Data Protection Officer, or write to the secretariat at info@kammp.or.ke and ask for it to reach the Data Protection Officer. The full details are in the Privacy notice.
Refund policy
- An application that is not approved: the fee you paid is refunded in full.
- A payment made twice, or for more than was due: the extra amount is refunded in full.
- A membership fee for an approved membership is not refunded, including when you leave part way through the year.
- Conference and event registration: refunded in full if you cancel in writing before the registration deadline. After that it is not refunded, but you may pass your place to another person at the same rate by telling us before the event.
- An event KAMMP cancels: every registration fee is refunded in full.
Refunds go back to the M-Pesa number or account the payment came from. Each refund is requested by the finance office and approved by a second officer before it is paid, so allow up to 30 days. To ask for one, email info@kammp.or.ke with your receipt number.
Changes to these terms
The Association may change these terms. Every change is approved before it is published, and the date of the current version is shown on this page.
