Who can nominate and stand

• Members on the voters' register nominate: ordinary, life and student members whose subscription is paid when nominations close.
• Only ordinary and life members stand as candidates.
• Nominate yourself, or one fellow member for each office. No seconder is needed.
• A candidate must be a Kenyan citizen living in Kenya, and declares it when accepting.
• A serving member of the Electoral Commission cannot stand.
• The Commission vets every nomination after the close and gives a reason for each decision.
• Not yet a member? Joining takes some days: the application is reviewed and the fee paid before membership starts, so apply well before the close.
